Position Overview


Visionary Asset Management, Inc., an award-winning independent broker-dealer, has an exciting opening as a full-time Business Development Specialist with Visionary’s business development team. The individual selected must possess the ability to work in a fast paced environment where change occurs rapidly due to the expanding marketplace.  Ability to provide a high level of customer service, mentor and train sale force, can work independently as well as an established team member, detailed oriented and demonstrate attention to details.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities


  • Limited client site travel required.

  • Developing marketing and bi-weekly newsletter communications to the field.

  • Assist in new marketing initiatives.                                                                                 

  • Create marketing materials for events and upon advisor request.

  • Create PDF/fillable.

  • Edit existing documents.

  • Make calls to top tier advisors highlighting products and services.

  • Partner with advisors to drive sales/build relationships.

  • Provide portfolio construction/practice management support to advisors to strengthen their client relationships/promote business growth.

  • Assist advisors with available investment programs and software.

  • Create client proposals and account opening/conversion documentation as necessary to assist advisors with client management.

  • Execute follow up with advisors to advance sales process/deepen relationships.

  • Demonstrate organized/efficient/effective territory management and phone skills on a consistent basis.

  • Work with Operations Department to create efficiencies

Knowledge & Skills Desired

  1. Proven leadership, strategy and daily financial services business development.

  2. Bachelor’s degree or five (5) years financial industry experience preferred.

  3. Five (5) years’ experience developing client relationships.

  4. 66 or 65 license is required.

  5. Strong verbal and written communications, diplomatic and interpersonal skills required.

  6. Attention to detail and follow-up skills required.

  7. Proven ability to solve highly complex business problems and manage concurrent projects in changing environment.

  8. Ability to effectively communicate effectively with individuals at all levels of the firm.


Systems Knowledge

Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Adobe Acrobat, Adobe Illustrator, Outlook, various CRMs and new service interfaces


Task and projects have predetermined standards for completion and deadlines.  Incumbent alerts the department head to problems, issues and potential threats to meeting deadlines.
