Position Overview

NEXT Financial Group, Inc., an award-winning independent broker-dealer, has an exciting opening as a full-time Acquisitions Consultant with NEXT’s Prestige Acquisitions Department. The Acquisition Consultant is responsible for matching NEXT buyers with internal and external sellers via direct source cold calling campaigns, networking and creative use on online resources.  This includes facilitating verbal and written discussions regarding the services of Prestige Acquisitions and the next steps needed to secure a meeting between the seller and buyer.  

 

The Acquisition Consultant is also responsible for analyzing Rep production data and preparing estimated business valuation reports as well as helping NEXT Reps create new and/or execute existing succession plans or continuing commission payment agreements.  

 

The Acquisition Consultant must stay abreast of new acquisition and succession structures as well as any FINRA or SEC policies or regulations that could impact the Team’s current processes, services and/or resources.  In addition, they must maintain a general knowledge of all new and existing NEXT processes and policies to ensure they are able to effectively provide the finest service and assistance to all NEXT and external Reps.  They must also conduct Prestige Acquisition presentations at the NEXT Educational Conference and other industry related events.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute acquisition plan including: working with NEXT Rep buyers and establishing, cultivating, and nurturing relationships with prospective sellers identified on call campaign lists

  • Initiate daily direct source cold calls to build, cultivate and maintain a pipeline of potential advisors.

  • Keep the NEXT Rep buyers updated on the status of the call campaigns on a consistent (weekly or bi-weekly) basis

  • Establish and maintain strong relationships with NEXT Representatives, wholesalers and any variety of sources to generate a consistent source of leads.

  • Analyze and organize Rep production data to complete accurate estimated valuations for both existing NEXT Reps and outside Sellers.

  • Work with NEXT Reps to create new and/or execute existing succession plans or continuing commission payment agreements.

  • Work with the Recruiting, Recruiting Coordinator and Management to effectively prepare the prospective external Reps for Rep Review and affiliation.

  • Interact with all Team members to ensure timely scheduling of meetings with and valuations for potential sellers. Includes interactions with Recruiters, Management and other NEXT personnel to ensure timely scheduling of meetings and to obtain needed information for the sellers and buyers.

  • Organize prospective seller information to ensure a concise and effective presentation of the seller profile information to the buyer and Management.

  • Gain and maintain knowledge of NEXT Financial Group and the process/requirements for Rep affiliations to support those sellers who choose to affect an earn-out or gradual acquisition.

  • Maintain consistent and comprehensive documentation of all telephone, email and fax communications in the Call Relationship Management (CRM) system.

  • Accurately maintain and distribute daily, weekly and monthly lead progression, territory and activity reports.

  • Participate in regular Practice Acquisition & Transition and other meetings.

  • Stay informed of acquisition market trends and structures as well as NEXT policy changes that may impact practice acquisitions.  

  • Identify and recommend process and form changes for improvement.

  • Conduct presentations at the NEXT Educational Conference and other industry events.

  • Perform ancillary projects and duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Required

1.       1+ years of cold calling experience with demonstrated track record of securing and maintaining a strong pipeline of leads.

2.       Bachelor’s degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience as required by the job

3.       Strong verbal and written communication, interpersonal and follow-through skills

4.       Strong and high energy networking and relationship building skills.  Ability to cultivate and maintain long-term relationships.

5.       Ability to work in a self-driven environment with strong time management and multi-tasking skills.

6.       1+ years of office experience using Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio and web development tools.

Preferred Skills

Desired

1.       2+ years of Broker Dealer full-cycle cold calling experience with a demonstrated track record of successful leads.

2.       2+ years of experience in the securities industry preferred.
